my gloves are powder free. so idk what that stuff is on top of your meal.

what you see here is a box of gloves. specifically, my meat gloves. let me tell you. as long as i have my non-latex gloves on, i can handle my meat real well.

now get your mind out of the gutter. because we're going into the kitchen. my kitchen. where i cook. sometimes. and if the sometimes involves raw meat, my gloves go on.

my reasons for wearing gloves are simple. with gloves, i don't feel the greasy slimy dead cow, pig, chicken, etc animal meat slip in my palms. and. i don't have to wash my hands for 25 minutes after touching the meat. i can cut out a whole minute and wash for just 24 minutes instead.

but the best reason as to why i wear gloves is this. after i burn the meal and ruin dinner, there are no finger prints. this reason especially comes in handy if there's food poisoning. which, by the way, i've never caused. at least, there's no evidence to prove it.

I tried to buy a box of non-latex gloves,

but they are out of them...everywhere...

seems you handle your meat, a lot, and you bought the entire stock.

Uh oh...

This comment might have vartanished your reputation...

Too funny about not having fingerprints! I grew up with parents who worked in the hospital, so non-latex gloves were all over our house! It was the norm!

I could have used some of those gloves tonight!!

You are brilliant. I gag when I have to touch raw meat, of any sort. But then if I get the gloves, will I have to cook?!

I don't have this issue with meat, but I have known others that have. Thank goodness for your gloves!

LOL, for me specifically it's raw chicken, ick. Even with gloves I couldn't do it. The only way is when I get the pristine raw chicken breasts from Whole Foods that sit in the case like jewels and then only to throw into a pot after scrubbing them with salt and lemon. The stuff in the package that is slimy and oozy, no way dude! Needless to say this rarely happens.

i ALWAYS use gloves... not only for meat, but for peppers and anything else that might stink (kimchee?!) hahaha...

they sell these packs at the asian market for $0.50 for 20 or so gloves. you can't go wrong with it being that cheap! but they don't have a nice fit like the ones in your picture :)

You know, I always assumed when you used the expression "wearing gloves" it was because you were:
a) really cold in your stainless steel kitchen
b) about to kill the animal whose meat you were eating that night for dinner
c) OCD and can't touch things like rice or basil with your bare hands
d) super weird.

This post clears it up. Thanks.

Ugh...I absolutely despise the feeling of raw meat on my skin...though I do love eating it once it is thoroughly blackened.

I thought I was a weirdo. I prefer to wear gloves when I handle meat or make candy. Who wants you rolling the candy around in your hand before they eat it? Thank you for this post. I feel normal now.

Oh - you are too funny. I've never thought about gloves, but it might be the solution to my problem. Good thinking.
