i used to think elephants ate peanuts through their noses. cartoons are the devil.

when i was a little girl, i wanted a pet elephant. but i was told that it wouldn't be feasible what with me not owning a zoo and all. plus. my mom said it wouldn't be such a good idea on account of the elephant would probably squish me. tru dat.

but here i am. all grown up with my own zoo membership. that's practically ownership right there. too bad my zoo doesn't have elephants. it does, however, have popcorn and a wading pool for kids. which pretty much makes up for any lacking.

reminiscence courtesy of this adorable elephant charm necklace i received today. created by katrina of anirtak on etsy. i think i'll call him sherman.

Seriously? Your zoo doesn't have elephants?

I'll bet wearing an elephant around your neck would be heavy.

Aw. I love elephants. I collect them. My favorite is this ring that I found at an arts and crafts fair a few years back with elephants all the way around the band trunk to tail. They're so cute. :)

Sherman is an awesome name for your new elephant. When I was little my Grannie had this porcelain elephant in her front yard. I used to call it 'tromp tromp' which was what I what I thought an elephant would say if it could talk. How can your zoo not have an elephant. I'm still scratching my head about that one.
