fifteen books were from the stephanie plum series by janet evanovich. i walked into the bookstore. and i was like. "where are your stephanie plum books?" and the girl was like. "oh! they're over here. i'll show you." the end.
five books were from the percy jackson series by rick riordan. i walked into the bookstore. and i was like. "where are your percy jackson books?" and the girl was like. "oh! they're in the children's section. i'll show you." the end.
then the last four books. alas. they were from the twilight series by stephenie meyer. i walked into the bookstore and i was like. "whereareyourtwilightbookssshhhhhh?" and the guy was like. "OH! TWILIGHT! WELL! WHERE ARE THEY? OH YES! THEY MOVED THEM OVER TO THE MUSIC SECTION. I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULD PUT TWILIGHT OVER THERE! TWILIGHT... TWILIGHT... OH! HERE THEY ARE! HERE ARE THE TWILIGHT BOOKS!" the end. of my self respect.
so this year. i've just started on the harry potter series. any other suggestions for good reads? i don't mind going into the children's section, obviously. but please. please for the love of everything respectable in this world. please don't make me go into the music section.

About 6 month ago I started reading again myself...and have finished quite a few books that are good....My husband got me a twilight book(eclipse) for my christmas stocking....so of course now I have to read that series too.
Let me know how Harry Potter is...I've been thinking maybe I should read those too....
I too was sucked (pun intended) into the Twilight series last year. Burned through one a week and would discuss them with my babysitter!
The Other Bolelyn Girl or any of the Philippa Gregory books on the Tudor family (I ended up going back and reading them chronologically). Loved them all.
The Time Travler's Wife- one of my all time favorites- you have to accept the plot mechanism to enjoy it.
Pillars of the Earth- an oldie but good one- don't be daunted by its size- it is very easy to read. Ken Follets follow-up World without End was just as good, if not better.
The Red Tent and The Thirteenth Tale were also great.
As I was a part of these reading choices, I feel a fancy reading vibe. Also, Ranger. Mmmm.
My recommendation: The Maxiumum Ride series by James Patterson. Also Young Adult Fiction. Because I am stuck in the Young Adult Fiction Genre.
I'm going to keep my eye on the responses here cause I'm resolving to read at least one new book per month. (Including twilight as I'm almost positive I'm the only living person who hasn't read them yet).
I must admit I was a little proud to read that you embraced the Stephanie Plum series. **Sniff** {{wiping eyes}}
And speaking of embracing....
How about that Morelli and Ranger?!
Hubba.
yay for awesome book series! or series-es...not sure. Okay so what about the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series? or if you wanna get heavy-duty, try Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series...
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Just finished it, and LOVE it.
no. there is nothing else out there for us. nothing will ever be as good as HP, Percy, or (twilight). i am seriously ticke at stepheneie meyer for realz. she has sca-rewed all of us! if you do happen to find anything else let. me. know.
p.s. kearsie suggested ender's game by orson scott card?
I'm a PROUD twilight reader! I am such a huge David Baldacci and Steve Berry fan but they don't entirely fit in to the books you seem to like!
Last year I also read all of Twilight and had the same experience.
I also read all of the House of Night series. More vampires, but a little different.

Also read 1-3 of Harry Potter.
Also read Wonderous Strange by Lesley Livingston. Its about faeries. She has a second book I haven't read yet, but its on my shelf.

Now. That being said. When I was younger I REALLY liked the Madeleine L'engle books. I bought the Wrinkle in Time Quintet to read again (the first couple of books) and finish the last books. I can't help it that I like YA books.
I also have a book called Hush, Hush by Fitzpatrick that I am going to read. And I have the book Wicked to read too.
I will not read the books that started the True Blood show cause I cannot get past the name of the main character, Sookie Stackhouse. It's plain ridonculous, I say.
No Amber,
I have not read Twilight, and I will nevar EVAR read them! I read like, one page thanks to Kearsie convincing me to and well, I nearly went into a rage, not against you Kearsie, you know I still have dreams about you...
Anyway, I will read any mEDical book out there, because I should have become a doctvar, then I could have treatED all you crazy Twilight fans...
I'll read Patrick McManus though...I am cullstantly in the mood for some good cullmedy stories that mayerk me laugh oftan...
Man, this one was vard.
How about the Bartimaeus triolgy? It's interesting.

I love Twilight. *hangs head in shame*
Did you know that there is a Scene It game for Twilight? Yeah...I kind of want it for my birthday. I bet I would kick everyones' ass at it too.
hahahahaha! Thanks for the GREAT laugh! I LOVED the Twilight Series, but also fought it at first.
From the kid's (or perhaps young adult) section, and oh so wonderful is Norton Jester's The Phantom Tollbooth. Have you read that?! LOVE IT!
And I loved The Shack.
Also, Harry Potter is grand.
And right now I'm starting more vampire books, the Sookie Stackhouse series, but only because I can't read fancy books that make me think right now. Yeah, that's my excuse.
Lol, oh my goodness you are hilarious! I just came across your blog and read your profile then this post. Immediately after I leave this comment, I am going to become a follower and then scour the rest of your blog. I need a laugh! I read "Harry Potter" series last year, followed by the "Twilight" series. So far this year I read "The Host" which is also by Stephanie Meyer.
If you haven't read books by Louis Sachar, those were my favorites when I was a kid. I just reread them recently and I loved them still. "There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom" and "Holes" are very entertaining in my opinion. There is also "The Wayside School" books.
Oh and another thought...I totally get what you were doing with the "chicken hilarious". I did that too once. I would say, "You are so funny you should be a chameleon", which was my *clever* and sarcastic take on the word comedian. So as to say, "youre not actually funny". But nobody ever got it, instead the would correct me and say, "the word is comedian". Sigh.
Have you read Jitterbug Perfume?
