why do i have to tie the chicken legs together? it's not like it's gonna go running off anywhere. hopefully.

raw whole chickens are really creepy looking. for real. which may be the reason i've never cooked one before. but i did tonight. and i only went through five pairs of gloves in the process.

i was totally inspired by cookie girl creations (aka frying bacon naked) and her "skillet roasted chicken and fried sweet potatoes" recipe. which means. i read the recipe about seventy-two times. and then winged it. for both the chicken and the sweet potatoes. but still. without that post, i don't think i could have come up with such a delicious dinner.

li'l tot just ran into the room and asked me for a high five because she sank the six ball in wii pool. that's what a good dinner will do for you.

ps. the picture is of the raw whole chicken. just so you don't think i undercooked it. because i didn't. i used two thermometers. and besides. the wings were so crunchy and good that i ate part of the bone, too. don't gross out. i've got a wild beast inside of me that can't always be tame.

And bone eating is just as ok as eating mo**st goose pimply skin.

Please don't break up with me. I had to.

Seriously? First Kim puts up a picture of an Oopma Loompa, and now you with a big ol' raw chicken? What are you guys trying to do to me?!?

Glad your dinner was a success. Did you cook naked?

Oh yeah, featherless, headless birds in a pan -- they always look like they've come in for a crash landing to me. I don't like to cook 'em, but I sure like to eat 'em.

I started to learn how to cook only about 2 years ago. And I still have moments like this. Than I silently (but not really) wish I lived back in a town that had delivery or more than one restaurant.

lol!! Wild beast. That was awesome. ^.^

I recently learned how to oven roast a chicken. Tastes like rotisserie! So good!!

Congratulations. :D

Wait. Are you saying you went through so many gloves because you taped them all together like an apron whilst you cooked naked? Also, my skin slightly resembles raw chicken, so I'm fairly certain if I cooked naked it would look like a chicken was up cooking itself.

This comment just turned ugly.

I try to buy the boneless skinless breasts on special. I don't do the whole bird well!

I didn't know you were supposed to tie the legs together LOL. Oh well, I always make mine in the crock pot, so they're good & secure.

I will be watching for poop in the tub.

I just saw your comment... I'm glad you like your meat. Tell me what you think. It's made in OR which means it's awesome. Ask Shauna, she was made here too.

i made a whole chicken a few weeks ago. i roasted it. it grossed me out. i kept cutting off the parts that grossed me out. i wasn't left with much after all of the surgical procedures.
