when i was younger, i'd treat myself to a few slim jims on road trips. and what i'd do was. i'd open the package. bite the top off the slim jim. and peel the casing down. and eat the casing separately.they don't make slim jims the way they used to. nowadays, the casing is all tough and stuck to the meat. and when it gets warm, the grease will melt out and get stuck inside the casing. it'll be all squishy. yet. contained. nevertheless, see my post title.

I hate Slim Jims, never acquired the taste, but my husband complains of the exact thing you're talking about and yes, he still eats them too. Thanks for the laugh. Glad I found ya.
I used to get slim Jim with my extra lunch money. Reminds me of elementary school. I will still eat one. My kids love them.
It's not really oozey grease. It's Slim Jim juice.
I have never had a Slim Jim. And now, this post has solidified my resolve to never allow one to enter my mouth. *shudder* ;-)

I haven't eaten a slim jim since my last road trip with the family when I was like 10. I kinda hate the way they are all fibery and get caught in your teeth. You should try a Tillamook Smoked meat stick (made in OR)... So much better.
When I was visiting a very small town in the country we caught some of the locals buying large quantities of Slim Jims on Xmas morning. They let us know this was their stocking stuffer of choice.
God I wish I had thought of that.
