it's muffin tin monday. today's theme is "color series - green or st. patty's".it was such a beautiful day today from what i could tell by looking out my window. so i thought it'd be nice to have a picnic. in the grass. i mean. might as well go as far as the green theme can take me. and when i went outside to set up, i thought the wind was gonna take me past green and all the way to blue. which is the muffin tin monday theme two weeks from now. apparently, wind is invisible.
still. i pressed on with our picnic. a couple of fifteen pound pavers kept the blanket from flying away. too bad i can't say the same about my hair. no. i don't wear a wig. you totally know what i mean. the wind had my hair all bapooossshhhhhhh. <--- fancy sound effect while waving arms above my head.
we've got strawberry yogurt with green sprinkles. green pasta with spam bits. green peanut butter m&ms. edamame. and clover sandwiches with green cream cheese.
the girls had fun and ate most of their lunch. and i learned a few things. one - my irish accent rocks. listen to this. top o' the mornin' to yeh! see? pretty good, huh? and two - muffin tin liners fly away when it's windy.
kermit always said "it's not that easy bein' green". wonder what all the other muffin tin moms think about that.

wind is great until it messes with the hair. I'm always like...Hey wind, don't mess wid me...or I'll mess you up!
Yeah...I'm pretty sure mother nature doesn't listen, but I say it anyway...
I love the green sandwiches. Green foods went over well at my house.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I will be watching Celtic Thunder every day this week. I will not eat green eggs and spam though.
Awesome tin ... awesome mom going out in the wind for a picnic!!! And your Irish accent beats mine into the floor!!! I guess I'll have to go watch some more Irish movies - I can do better! ;)
Nothing quite complements green cream cheese like an Irish accent. Nicely done. Now I'm off to the Barbie aisle to find some bling for Elvis :-)
I love your word for the hair going all crazy in the wind. I'm gonna steal that one. :)
Looks like a good lunch. You are brave being out in the wind with lunch and little ones. Wouldn't go over in my house.
To do an Irish accent, I always say...
Manly, yes! But I like it too!
Which is from an Irish Spring Soap commercial from last century.
And your pique-nique looks charming xx
I love the sound effects and the accent! I wish I had the courage to take her outside to eat. I think the distractions would end the meal real quick.
What a fun muffin tin!! I can't wait till it is nice enough to have a picnic, we have had such windy rainy weather here.
How cute!
it was REALLY windy here today too! My kiddos wanted a picnic, but I was afraid we'd blow away too.
I love the shamrock sandwiches and green cream cheese! The picnic sounds fun. It's still a little cold here for a picnic but we did go for a walk after lunch. What a beautiful day!
Green grass, oh how I wish we had some. LOL
Your accents was spot on, it is incredible!
Great tins.
word.
I cried so much today I have green boogers...I try to stay relevant to the curvant holiday celebratans, even when my emotions are garying the best of me...
I have a hOLD of it all now, man, (nasw) and love that you and your girls had a fun picnic and that your hair was broken by wind...but you didn't break wind...that's because you didn't have any green broccoli...
Your Irish accent is amazing! I thought I was really reading a Celtic blog or something!.
Go GREEN!
So not a nice day here. We still have SNOW!!! I love the idea of a picinic out in the yard. Great idea.
oh man! i wish it was warm enough & the grass was well not covered with snow, for us to have done a picnic today! love it. it was brilliant.
a picnic sounds great. sadly my youngest totally HATES ants. lol. pitty about the wind, great tin though
I hate wind solely because it messes up my hair. Other than that, your lunch sounds great!
Okay, you're just like the cutest mom EVER!!! Thanks for the green lunch ideas! :)
how fun!! we made corned beef and cabbage yesterday in honor of our irish brethren...i'm hispanic so i'm not sure that i have any, but hey, its the thought that counts.
That really is one hell of an Irish accent. I hope your hair recovered. I liked the sound effect and visual!

edamame? your kids must have some advanced pallets. i'm impressed and jealous. it's a fight to get my kid to eat tater tots.
i'm sure you worked with the wind. by the end of it, i'm sure you were flinging your head around like some shampoo commercial.
i made shepherd's pie in honor of st. patty's day. there were peas in it. green peas.
tevyn honored st patrick's day too. his crap was green. he said he willed it green. this impresses me.
It sounds like a fun picnic, wind and all. Love all the green foods!
good job winn! green eggs and ham next time!
We are doing a little St. Patty's green celebrating with MiniMac tomorrow. Love the muffin tin idea and will be using that!
My granddaughters love food like this! I'll try this tomorrow when I babysit them! Thanks for a cute idea!
That is one of the best Irish accents ever! Edamame and yogurt - my kind of meal.
whenever I see green things frying around in the wind I duck and cover...
1. They could be a booger
2. No one has ever disproven alien lifeforms
and
3. If it hits me I don't care what it is, I'll have to go home and wash...again...
Great story and what a fun and creative thing to do!
