it's muffin tin monday. today's theme is "color series - blue".my friend and her family (including her two older boys who are pretty close to my girls) recently moved. far away. really really far. like. 35 minutes away. i know, right? she might as well have moved to france (which, by the way, is what i've been calling the area where she lives because again, it's so so far). nevertheless, we visited her and the boys today for a play date.
i offered to provide muffin tin lunches. and because of their locale, lunch obviously had to be french cuisine. sort of. i mean. all the foods can be found in france. so i figure that counts.
the kids had blue candy. blueberries. yogurt with blue sprinkles. organic blue corn chips. and chicken cordon bleu - deconstructed. which is basically chicken nuggets, string cheese, and rolled ham. i know. you're struck frozen by my awesomeness. i should have totally warned you to prepare yourself.
we all had a great time hanging out. and li'l tot even picked up some french. she kept saying oui oui! of course, i realized when she stepped into the bathroom that she really was saying wee wee. eh. potatoes, potahtoes, pommes de terre.
wanna check out more muffin tin meals? no need to drive 35 minutes away. heck. no need to drive anywhere at all. just click on the link and you'll be magically transported. yeah. just like on star trek. except. you probably won't disintegrate.

I love the post! Chicken Cordon Bleu sounds wonderful even in parts!
wow. you are a genius. a real genius.
france is across the ocean.
your friend is up the road.
i see the resemblance.
Please make me sour soup in muffin tins. I will use a straw.
This was awesome too, btw...
Hahaha remember when I would oldly type french tweets? I have no idea what I was saying, like, Je dannyteste le garyzouillement et Michael Vartan est un grand idiot moyen.
Moyen = man, in my language anyway
Pudi good, eh?
oh my heck, I AM struck frozen by your awesomeness. chicken cordon bleu deconstructed? so great!
also, the title (I took four years of french in high school, which means squat): children and their sophisticated french food.
Je ne parle pas francais. Can you believe that's all I remember from high school French? Your tin and your post as usual are great. Love the chicken cordon bleu.
Small children with sophisticated tastes indeed. Voila! Chicken cordon bleu! Speaking of chickens...yeah, they poop more than you would ever ever ever imagine. I'm pretty sure they poop more than any other animal this side of France.
Oh, mon dieu! Les petites mon choux. C'est incroyable, mon français sucks so bad.
Also incredible is that "sucks so bad" is apparently untranslatable.
Fancy frenchless.
Okay, seriously...you are hilarious and I think we were best friends in a past life! Best blog find in a while! I'll be back!
Where did you come up with these brilliant muffin tin Mondays anyway?
I don't know what your title says. I'm not French. Contrary to popular belief.
I love it!!!
you totally should have warned us cause now I'm all cold.
From being struck frozen by your awesomeness. Seriously though I'm so totally impressed by your deconstructed chicken cordon bleu. I would pay to walk around in your head cause I'm so intrigued by the way your brain works.
Haha, that sounds creepy.
Anyways great tin and super awesome post as usual.
Pepe le pew! au jante'. reservoir!
I' a big chicken cordon bleu maker....who knew it was really so simple?? I' going to follow your recipe next time. yipee!
Love the deconstructed Chicken Cardon Bleu. You should be on Top Chef.

your food sounds good and yummy.
This is so hilarious! I'm so glad I've found your blog - much needed laughter! So creative!
hahahaha!!! this one was great!!!
So why don't the muffin tins ever make it to Canada, eh?
Chouette, simplement génial, comme d'hab, Wendi. Trop cool. (That is soooo cute! Simply great, Wendi, as usual. Too, erm, cool.)
We have all that food here in Central Brittany (chicken nuggets are known by the French term 'des nuggets') except for the blue corn chips, a pity because I love blue corn chips. (J'adore des chips de maïs bleu!) Well, ok, I could get them but it's something like 2.00€ ($2.70) for a tiny 125g bag and I'd have to drive to Paris, which is more than 35 minutes away. It's 3 hrs, by TGV (the super fast train) however, next time I am in Paris, I will buy some, then take a picture of me holding them up with some appropriate French landmark in the background so you know I really DID find them.
I'd like you to know that the Cordon Bleu de poulet déconstruit was simply sensass (sensational.) Chapeau (My hat off to you with compliments.) Je rire encore, vraiment. (I'm still laughing, really I am.) Bien sûr. (For sure.)
So, I'll just wish you a Bon journée! which is French for 'have a nice day!' and munch on my pain chocolat and drink my café au lait.
(You know I only wrote the French so I could use all these accents on my French keyboard, huh?)
Bisous (mwah!) from your token French reader, Kitty
You won the Alphabet Print Giveaway! I will be contacting you via e-mail.
That is very cool! I love the themes! Cordon Bleu - I would've never thought of THAT!
Tres jolie. Was that right? I'm thinking, uh, non.
Love me some chicken cordon bleu. Too smart!
