plastic charms that dangle from chafing strings make me happy.

these are two hand crafted necklaces made by li'l tot. the story is. one day while i was napping (yes. i nap. the whole "sleeping is for losers" is just for show.) li'l tot ran up to my face and was all... "mommy. i need gold string." that's all i remember.

when i woke up two hours later, i had a set of classy necklaces. each with their own meaningful charm cluster. let me tell you what each charm means. because you totally want to know.

1. yellow kissing charm. "because you kiss me, mommy."
2. red kissing charm. "because you kiss (baby)."
3. white pearls. "because you wear makeup."
4. yellow guard. "because you take me to the movies."
5. tan lizard. "because you scare them away."
6. brown briefcase. "because you pack my stuff."
7. wrench. "because you fix things."
8. cow. "because you take me to the zoo."
9. onesie. "because you put clothes on me and (baby)."
10. black ring. "because you wear makeup."

apparently, those are the things i'm good at. notice there's no "because you make good food" charm. also. i don't wear that much makeup.

this post was brought to you by leigh of "leigh vs. laundry" and her "happiness project". if you wanna play along, all you have to do is post a picture of something that makes you happy. then. you can add your name to her "mr. linky" thing - which is desperately needing attention. check out what makes leigh happy. (i'll give you a hint. it's a picture of me!)

I want to know where she got the plastic charms. They remind me of the prizes in Cracker Jacks. Or stuff you'd find under your bed in the corners mixed with safety pens, broken crayons and pennies when you had to move house. Or my Mother's old tin button box that she had gotten from HER Mother and was about a hundred years old.

I <3 Li'l Tot's prezzie so much.
(That's a heart, by the way, laying on it's side, NOT a double ice cream cone... unless you want it to be a double ice cream cone. That would be good too.)

that's so sweet. once i took a nap (while i was 8 1/2 months preggo) and woke up covered in plastic play food. I was told,"I dumped the food on you." awww, 2 year olds. I'd rather wake up to fancy new jewelery. Lucky.
Sorry for confusing you a little by switching up my blog. I didn't think anyone would notice. My in-laws certainly won't, even though they are "loyal followers".

That is so cool! Naps are a necessity and do NOT think you'll quit when the kids get older. Its just how it is! You know how there are some people that you really care what they think, like, you admire what they're doing and you really, really care what they think? You are one of those people for me. No pressure...but thanks a LOT!

I am wondering what charms my kids would put on their gold strings. Do they make a charm of mom's eating and watching the Bachelor?

I used to make little charm necklaces like that. SO much fun. I'm sure that you look terribly fancy wearing it. Thanks for jumping into the Happiness Project. As long as you are around, I feel like I have a posse.

Thats awesome and too funny...love kids. Sure would make any mommy happy to get that. I just get weeds from the back yard and am lucky if they don't have dog poo on em.
coming back at ya from the linkly thingy. Thanks for the comment.
