it's muffin tin monday. and there was no official theme for today. however, there was chatter about a memorial day theme on the mtm facebook page. unfortunately, i wasn't part of that chatter. man. always the last to know. well. except for when i found out i was pregnant. i was the first to know about that. and both times, too!so i took my girls to see the fourth (and final) shrek movie this morning. it was hilarious. and even touching. but what made the movie experience really great was that no one had to go potty during it. and that's because i didn't drink much. ahem. what? my bladder's shot. anyway...
it was time for lunch when we got home. and i had originally planned to just do leftovers for today's muffin tin monday. and i still did. except. i put a little twist on it.
the girls had a rumpelstiltskin contract scroll (string cheese). shrek's swamp home (mashed sweet potato with a broccoli stem). slugs and bugs (lobster). and gingy's gladiator animals (animal cookies).
the girls thought the meal was great fun. especially because i left a bunch of shrek toys on the table. also. the toys are now in the sink. because they have sweet potato all in their creases.

It sounds like it was great movie. I love the muffin tin tie-in.
I wish all I needed were a few Shrek toys to keep ME from eating all my lunch. And all of Pierce's lunch. And Cort. And Reid's. You know, just whatever they don't finish...
Very fun tin. I would like to see Shrek 4. But should probably see 2 + 3 first.
So awesome!
But next time, you need to serve eyeballs, because Shrek said they are really good on toast. Remember?
Gingy is such a cute old gingarybread man, man! Tastes pudi good when you dunk him in milk, but you can't eat Gingy, many suffer from that misunderstandanny.
OK I have a headache. Sorry.
Man, my kids are so unlucky that I only give them boring lunches. Your lunches rock. Seriously, I want that Shrek lunch for ME.
I'm jealous of the MTM AND the fact that you got to go to the movie.
LOVE it! Great job. :)
Oh I love Shrek and with a lunch like that ~ how fun! Call me next time ;)
We've been looking forward to going to see that movie. I might have to have a little Shrek-themed meal, too. Fun!
I love Shrek and I love animal cookies. Count me in!
Oh my, this is awesome! I can't wait to see Shrek 4, the kids are dying to go.
I'm going to see the movie Thursday -- can you make me some snacks? ;-)
What a fun lunch. I love your theme!
My kids LOVED it - I didn't see it they had boys night out ! I am greatful I don't have sweet potato in my creases though......
I want lobster for a snack!!
Seriously you are so creative.
Wow. I'm sending my kid to you. You wont want her - she's trouble - but you can't send her back until you get her to eat lobster...or anything that isn't milk for that matter.
Your MTMs are truely inspired.
Great post! And thanks for the idea. I'm taking the Grands to see Shrek on Friday! Woo hoo! You are a genius girl...just a genius! Your giveaway is cool but I'm going to let someone win it that can really use it! Happy Tuesday!
I didn't care much for the movie, but I would like your lunch please! (Except the lobster... I am allergic to shellfish)
