i cleaned out the laundry room. not to be confused with "i cleaned the laundry room". nor with "i did the laundry".

these are my garage sale chronicles - summer supplements. it's where i show you what i bought. and how said item was used for summertime fun. because i know you're all so curious about my life. bunch o' stalkers.

today: 45 minutes of dirty fun. and all in the laundry room, too.

item purchased: a scrapbooking case filled with 36+ stamps, 9 paints, 3 stencils, and 2 stamp pads.

the story: it's hot here. like mascara melt hot. so yesterday, instead of scheduling play dates or traipsing around (insert random theme park, zoo, playground, etc), i thought it'd be best to just hang together. inside.

so i unpacked the case (see item purchased) and laid it all out on the laundry room floor. then i called my girls and told them to have at it. i invited them to paint the walls. no holds barred. and boy, they sure did obey. plus. they went the extra mile and painted their hands and feet, too.

in the end, my girls created a beautiful mural that i'll keep forever. i took a bunch of pictures and i may just frame a couple and hang them up to remind my girls of the special day. and also to remind them of the mess they made and how it took me 30 minutes just to get the paint off their little bodies. it's best for when i'm old and i tinkle on myself dribble drool a little. guilt fond memories will have me cleaned up in no time. i hope.

cost for item: one dollar.

your reaction: you think i'm the coolest mom around. and you wish you were one of my kids. (your reaction will never change. so you can skip this part come next week.)

I am still in awe. Especially of the paint so close to the beautiful washer and dryer. *chest pain*

My cleaning senses tingled just reading this...and I can't show my daughter or she will wonder why she can't make her walls pretty...but I'm about to give in, because that does look llike fun and makes for great memories..

Even if the memory only comes to me when I'm waving my cane around yelling at family members to use a coaster!

Flat out awesome. I wish you were my mom. Only not when I was a kid, I mean now, b/c I never do fun stuff like that. When I paint the walls, my hubs follows me around pointing out drips that need to be wiped.
