i remember my prom night like it was three nights ago.

i went out friday night. because mommyologist decided to host a prom. (which i found out about via lisa over at two bears farm. i'm her chicken's godmother. anyway.) the theme was "mom sexy prom". i sure am glad my high school prom theme wasn't the same as that.

basically, mommyologist sent out a challenge (to moms) to dress up in something we don't get to wear everyday. something that makes us feel sexy. participation in this sort of thing isn't the norm for me. however, as with any prom, there will be a mom sexy prom queen. i'm not too concerned with the title. but there's no doubt i want a tiara. and that's what mommyologist is sending to the winner.

so i got all dressed up in my favorite dress (which i've worn only once prior). put on some silly bandz. added a touch of glittery purple toenail polish and matching mascara. and jumped off my dock (into the grass, not the water. i haven't completely lost it. yet). because, to me, sexy is about having fun. also. yes, i have no shoes on. and while i've said it several times before, i'll say it again. my feet are fine. it's yours i have a problem with.

after my jumping spree, i washed my feet and decided i was going to have a talk with my neighbor about picking up after his dogs. then i went to meet my date for the evening. that would be vanessafriend. she wants to win mom sexy prom queen, too. she probably will. because i'm so pathetic. <--- portraying low self esteem in order to get the pity vote thereby raising my chances of winning.

we started the evening out at the theatre. and i can spell it that way because they had a doorman. we saw the foreign film classic: karate kid (with jackie chan and jaden smith). i really liked the movie, to my surprise. especially the parts where they were speaking in chinese and not translating it onto the screen. vanessafriend wanted to know what they were saying so i translated for her. in short, they were shouting out the ingredients to special dragon moo goo gai pan. hold your gasps. i'm allowed to make jokes like this because of my ancestry.

we enjoyed fine dining, too. i had a bacon wrapped filet mignon. aka. the baconator from wendy's. vanessafriend ordered fries which she intended on dipping into a chocolate frosty. she was completely sober.

we also went to barnes & noble. what kind of prom would it be without books? exactly. plus. it was the only place still open at 10pm. don't rub your eyes. i wrote the time down correctly. everything closes at dusk here.

and there you have it. my mom sexy prom night. it was a blast. speaking of which. i should have told wendy's to hold the cheese.
