it's muffin tin monday. my girls had shrimp and linguine for lunch. they only ate about half their meal. probably because i let them have dessert first. being the world's awesomest mom is a gift. and a curse.for dessert, my girls assembled fruit tarts from sugar cookies. cream cheese icing. cherry pie filling. fresh strawberries. mandarin orange slices. and crushed pineapple.
it was sweet. as in the taste. and the slang terminology for amazing.
but wait. that's not it. add in the high carb lunch and right this minute, i've got baby passed out on the floor taking a nap. unfortunately, li'l tot is jumping on the couch and swatting imaginary flies. all while making train noises.
which brings us back to the gift and the curse thing.
yay for muffin tin mondays! to check out all the other participants, click here.

Wow
When your girls grow up, they will be trained (get it?) in the finer culinary skills! It's a beautiful thing you're doing. You really think outside of the boxes, and treasure these moments, because time flies...
Subtle is my middle name...
Awesome.
Also, my kids ate a high carb pasta lunch and are currently fighting over a journal I bought at Target for $1.00. It just doesn't get any better than this. Except when it's better.
Fancy complicated logic.
The fruit tarts officially sound AWESOME :)
I want their tarts. And that's not supposed to sound dirty.
LOL! You crack me up. :)
My first thought was "shrimp and linguine? Whoa! Fancy!!". But learning that this is your gift and all, fanciness probably just comes so second nature to you. ;-)
NICE lunch. Good luck with the couch jumper. I send mine out to the backyard once they start that up. Supermom here!
Wait, there's something wrong with dessert first?
LOL! Love it...swatting at imaginary flies while making train noises. Ah...if we could only have all that energy right?
Those tarts sounds so good!
You're amazing!
Its amazing how many shows and how many blogs I can hit that feature food whilst I am on a diet...those cookie fruit ensemble look scrumdillyiscious...yummy...drooltastic...and pretty darn good.
And now, I will go raid the freezer...
Wheeeee sugar high!! I wish sugar affected me that way now.
You are the rockin'est mom.
I would like to come over to build some cookie creations. Yum.
I would have loved the tarts too. JDaniel would have gone for the shrimp.
Sometimes I pretend the kids are imaginary...or maybe it's just all the carbs I eat.....hmmmmm
That sounds yummy!
fruit tarts from sugar cookies. you had me me at sugar.
What a yummy lunch! And fruit tarts for dessert! You are by far the world's awesomest mom! :)
what a cute idea! i may have to borrow that one for my kids---and I love fruit tarts myself, so....MmmmMmmMM!
p.s. nothing wrong w/ dessert first. i LOVE dessert!
Hey Girl~I confess like all shinny things...sunshine has got me a tad distracted. Living in the Pacific Northwest, we act like children hopped up on sugar. Giddy out of our heads!! We're down to the last few weeks, so I'm spending more time out than at my laptop.
I had to stop by and see what culinary muffin tin magic you've been up to. Dessert first...can't top that! Pass me the shrimp linguine!
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Hmmmm...I'm thinking your kids must have burnt the house down in a sugar-induced frenzy. And maybe More Than Mommy's house too. You girls are MIA & I'm getting a little worried. OK, maybe not that worried, but it sounded like a nice thing to say.
ok, so i haven't heard a peep out of you for awhile and just want to make sure that you didn't get lost in some crazy garage sale.
are you alive?!
Ahhh high carb lunches. It's like piss and vinegar in their little tanks isn't it ;)
Wendywin, I revisited your blog after a break in my bloggy world and I have been laughing all day. It's snowing here in the middle of April and I really needed the laugh. We have so much in common with the whole pink thing. Is there anything else if it doesn't come in pink?
